While fashion designers predict trends for the following season, director Harry Baweja and designer Thea have surpassed them all by predicting fashion for almost 40 years in the future. And by the looks of it, they might not be really off the mark. Sharing the first look of the actors exclusively with BT, the filmmaker says, ���We spent more than six months trying to figure out the right look.���
Being made on a lavish budget of more than 40 crore, the film travels back and forth in time. ���The biggest challenge was to push the boundaries of fashion and take it 40 years forward without losing the essence of the characters and keeping them in the believable zone at the same time,��� explains Thea. Baweja adds, ���The idea was to give them a look that people could imagine and relate to in the future. We didn���t want them resembling aliens or looking as if they���ve landed from Star Trek. The film is set in the future, but it���s not about space travel.���
To maintain the regularity of the film, Priyanka even had her hair dyed red. Thea says, ���For Priyanka, it���s hard-edged fashion with a soft touch. The look is very sporty, yet high fashion and feminine. The dress is made out of lace with lycra that has been specially imported from Milan. We kept in mind the fact that in the future, people will have really well-toned bodies, so well-fitted garments would definitely be in.���
They have also given Harman a very on-the-edge action-meets-sports look. ���We kept in mind his action sequences and gave him a sleek, yet believable look. Also, we played around a lot with his accessories right from biker robotic boots to gloves with different textures,��� she added.
Well, with this gear, they do seem set to travel in the future. So get ready for take off!
